What does a Web Designer do?

 

Web Designers convert text documents to HTML format for publishing on the Web. A web designer is primarily concerned with a sites layout, look-and-feel, graphic design and content. Designers need to be familiar with tools such as Flash, Fireworks, Dreamweaver, JavaScript as well as a multitude of other web text and image editors.

 

 

 

What does a Web Developer do?

 

Web Developers are more concerned with what function the site will accomplish and the technical structure behind its conception. Developers would generally be involved in more of the data intensive elements. Developers also need to have programming skills in order to integrate the sites with existing systems, e.g. Java, C#, JavaScript, VB.NET and more.
