Christo moved from Cromwell where he was working in a manual role to take up study in Christchurch. Christo will be shortly be graduating with a Diploma of Systems Technology. This course provides training in a range of technical skill sets from understanding installing, configuring and troubleshooting a range of computer components through to designing installing and management of networks including security. Graduates also achieve A+, N+ and MCP. Christo is a very outgoing and confident individual with a passion for Information technology and is an active gamer in his personal time. Christo is originally from South Africa and has gained resident status. He is ideally looking for a tech or customer support style role. He may take the opportunity to do some further study, but with the flexibility of our study plans he could either be available part time or study after work at nights.

Diploma of Information Technology

Ragu is one of our international students who has moved to New Zealand to study our Diploma of Information Technology (Network Engineering) NZQA Level 6 qualification. This qualification includes the design, installation and management of computer networks and systems, including network security, troubleshooting through to project management and Programming in Java. Raghu is in the process of graduating with Comptia A+, N+ Project+, CCNA and Linux Red Hat (RHCT). Ragu is a very focussed and determined individual and has a great grasp of the English language. He will shortly be applying for his work visa, which is part of the international study arrangement, allowing for him to work in any industry for 12 months.

Ravi is a quietly confident student with a good work ethic and a kind nature, originally from Central India, Ravi took the opportunity to apply to study in Christchurch and has a one year work visa. The Diploma in Business Systems allows our students to gain industry relevant skills in Software Development thorough practical foundation on which to build a successful career in the arena of database development and programming. Ravi majored in C#/VB.Net and Java programming gaining the following international certificates SCJP, SCJD and MCTS: web application and windows application. Ravi would fit into an environment where he can utilise his skills of self-motivation and working under his own initiative in a medium to large organisation.

Andrew is originally from Christchurch and has also spent some time living and working in Australia. Andrew comes from a mostly baking and hospitality background, and later discovered that he had an interest in computers and decided to take the opportunity to retrain into a new career in ICT. Andrew’s qualification covered a range of technical exposure including, MS Office Suite, Network Administration and Help Desk Problem Solving. We feel that these skills will help him strive in a customer based helpdesk position in a range of sectors. Andrew would like to find a job that has a variety of tasks so that he can use what he has learnt in his qualification and apply these skills to the job. In his spare time Andrew likes watching rugby, watching movies and playing snooker.

Diploma in Systems Technology
Paul has been involved in both transport and processing for a lot of his working life, he feels the most rewarding experiences form his experience are when had to maintain and operate machinery to perform at its best. Paul has always had an interest in IT, often helping family and friends when their tech went wrong. Once again getting that sense of achievement from fixing PC’s and seeing them operate as they should. After a heavy vehicle motor accident Paul took the opportunity to re-train into the IT industry and enrolled with us to study a Diploma in Systems Technology. This qualification has given Paul some great exposure and qualifications in A+, Network+, Help desk problem solving knowledge including his MCP which would prepare him well for a PC/Laptop technician role. Paul has the maturity and ability to communicate with people from all walks of life, which will serve him well in his future career.

Philip is excited to be looking for employment in the Information Technology industry. Through his study for the Advanced Diploma in Software Development Philip has a great foundation in C#, SQL and Java and is enthusiastic about finding programming work and starting a career in software development. His previous work experience and Bachelor of Science degree in psychology has built his communication skills, attention to detail and work ethic. Philip is a mature and conscientious person and has proven he can work as part of a team and pick up new skills. Outside work he likes to keep fit and gets outdoors with activities such as running, circuit-training and mountain biking.

Martin has spent the last 25 years in the Army, 17 years in the Army Band and the last 8 years in the Burnham Regional Support Centre (BRSC) as the S3 Co-ordinator and administrator plus the military and security co-ordinator for civilian contractors inside Burnham Camp. In this time Martin has attained a Diploma of Management from the Open Polytechnic of New Zealand and has successfully completed his OSH course. With an interest in computers and realising that his army contract may be ended in 2012. Martin studied a Diploma in Systems Technology to kick start his new career This qualification has given Martin some great exposure and qualifications in A+, Network+, Help desk problem solving knowledge including his MCP which would prepare him well for role in the ICT industry. He prides himself on his work ethic, integrity and his willingness to accept change and learn new skills.

Tim has had an interest in computing since childhood he has obtained a Diploma in Software Development majoring in C# / VB.net to move his career path in a positive direction within an industry that can provide him with more of a challenge, Tim worked in the Automotive industry for 10 years with the previous 5 years as an import compliance mechanic he finds career prospects are limited in this industry.
