a1. How will Computer Power help me?

Throughout your chosen course, you will learn the technical skills and gain qualifications in IT.
Upon completion of your Computer Power course, you will have developed the essential soft skills required for everyday business including writing and communication skills, time management, teamwork and customer service skills.
Our Professional Development Consultants and Placement Consultants will train you in the art of successful job hunting. You will learn how to write CVs and cover letters, where to look for jobs, how to apply for positions and most importantly how to access the hidden job market.
Our Placement Consultants will assist you in preparing your CV and application letters as well as teaching you appropriate interview techniques and behaviors. You will attend mock interviews to give you real experience and ensure you are confident for any future interviews.

Like any job, salaries are usually negotiated between the candidate and the employer and are determined on the applicant

IT is an essential resource in every organisation, not just technology companies, and our graduates find employment in a variety of organisations across New Zealand and internationally. That said, a lot of our graduates find employment with large IT based multinationals that provide excellent opportunities for career progression.

Computer Power will assist you to find employment in an IT related position that suits your skills, experience and goals. Our graduates obtain work in a variety of industries, in roles such as: programming, e-commerce, web development, consulting, software and technical support, network administration, help desk and training and many more.

Computer Power has locations in all major cities in New Zealand, and all locations provide placement assistance to our graduates.

a6. During my studies, can I receive placement assistance?
|
Computer Powers self paced learning is a unique study alternative to university and polytechnics, in that our courses are designed to train you in IT skills as quickly as possible so that you can get on with your new career. Throughout your studies we want you to focus on completing your course, so we will only begin assisting you with your job search for full time roles once you have completed your studies.
From time to time, we receive enquiries from employers wanting students for short term assignments such as relocations, and we are happy to place you in these positions as they give you valuable IT related experience.

a7. How long will it take for me to find employment?
|
Computer Power take pride in helping you to find the right job to match your skills, experience and career goals, not just any job.
For this reason, the length of time it takes to find that role can vary from days to weeks to months. You will be encouraged to know that the majority of our graduates secure employment within 3 months of graduating.
Your success depends on a combination of things including: how proactive you are in looking for a job, your attitude and performance at interviews, career background and experience, and of course, the job market at the time you graduate.
