Working in New Zealand
New Zealand is a popular tourist destination and millions of tourists are visiting New Zealand every year. As travel and tourism is the largest industry in New Zealand and in the world many international students work predominantly in this industry.

International students, who are studying diploma qualifications at level 5 and above, may under the terms of their student visa work part time (20 hours per week) during the course of study and may work full time during the Christmas break. Upon successful completion of their qualification students are eligible to apply for an open work permit (Graduate Job Search Visa) for 12 months to seek employment in New Zealand. After graduates find an employer and obtain a job offer/employment contract they can apply for a work visa which can be extended to 2 years.

Please be aware that due to changes to New Zealand Immigration Policy students, who enrol after April 1st 2012, will be required to complete a programme of study of more than two years duration to qualify for a 12 month open work permit.

Students who are studying at Computer Power find it easier to make a career in New Zealand as they are trained by the industry and for the industry needs. Students are trained what potential employers are looking for and are able to fit straight into a working environment.
